Hi all, I have a sonoff zigbee dongle connected to my rpi that I use for Z2M. I have Aqara temperature sensors that worked great and the updated state was pulled quite frequently.

Since moving apartments, the states on these devices update less frequently (as of writing this, the last time they updated was 8 hours ago), which makes using these sensors for anything quite difficult. The connection seems strong ( LQI ~98) and the device has a new battery in it.

Is there anyway that I can pull the state more frequently or any other approaches to fix this issue?

The sensors only report when there is a change to report (temp/humidity/battery). if they aren’t reporting in, they probably dropped off the mesh and need to be re-paired. Make sure you have enough routing devices as well.

Did you re-pair everything after moving, and did you pair them to a nearby router device?

I was thinking since I took the same wifi router that I wouldnt need to re-pair but it seems that this is the issue, and the LQI values that were showing were stale

WiFi and Zigbee are not the same.

WiFi routers/APs do not work in a zigbee mesh.

What does "AP" stand for in your message? And yeah, sorry couldve clarified when I said wifi router I really meant (wifi router + rpi4 + sonoff dongle) are all the same and is my full setup. I have a two repeaters from IKEA around the house as well that I connect (and my understanding is this improves connectivity).

Is this the equivalent to a zigbee mesh?

AP == (WiFi) Access Point

You also need more than two router devices

(unless maybe this is a two room flat)

It's not quite that every room with an end device should have a router device, but you don't want to be more than one wall away from one
