Hey guys, hope someone can help me.. I have been looking endlessly but just can't get a clear answer to my question...
I am trying to turn the current 'dumb' switches smart in my parents' home, but to keep things simple for them I want to keep the look and functions of the existing switches.
I hope the attached picture tells a thousand words and helps explain everything better.
Old Scenario: Mains connected to rocker switch -> connected to dimmer switch -> connected to dimmable lights.
New Scenario: Basically I want the rocker switch to control on/off and the dimmer to continue to control the brightness of the lights.
Approach:
--I think the best option would be to connect Shelly relays to the switch in 'bypass' mode to always provide power to the lights and send on/off commands to control them.
--But I'm not sure what I can do with the dimmer. Is there something that I can connect to the current 'dumb' ones to read their values and then send those to HA to control brightness?
