#ZBT-1 dongle broken, ZHA integration doesn't recognize devices anymore.

also, skyconnect failed after the last update, Failed setup, will retry: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Nabu_Casa_SkyConnect_v1.0_f4a6e47dda9ced1195c680faa7669f5d-if00-port0
I had to delete the entity entirely, since that didn't work (nor did reboots)
also it didn't detect the radio protocol type, either, which isn't documented in ZBT's docs
if every update of HAOS involves every extension breaking to the point of having to re-configure all entities and automations, that's really frustrating
Again, this isn't common. There are TONS of people using the sky connect or ZBT-1 (including me) . If this was even remotely widespread there would be a huge number of complaints every single month about it-- and that's not the case.
Hi @torn willow,
Since you have a ZBT-1, are you aware of the recall? Perhaps the bad power regulator event has occurred and your dongle is no longer functional?

"This entity is no longer being provided...etc"
Have you checked the entity IDs? It's possible you have a second set with "_2" added.
the entity IDs are unchanged (well, they're invalid, but unchanged). it broke after an update, not after me changing a config. I don't edit the YAML I edit via the GUI
If the serial port is missing, this means the device is "unplugged". How are you running Home Assistant OS?
believe it or not, it was still plugged in the whole time.
puddly is saying the device can be physically plugged in but the port itself is inactive-- resulting in an "unplugged" state.
sounds like a bug in HA, considering all I did was update.
sounds like it could be a hardware issue.
anyway, I deleted the integration and re-added the devices to fix it.
How do you have HA installed
this can't be a serious question, right? I just said home assistant OS, there's only one way to put that on a raspberry pi.
it manages all core features, drivers, kernel updates...
serial is up to HAOS
where do you say you're using a rasppi?
Tons and tons of people run HA OS within a virtual machine running on one of a handful of hypervisors. USB devices disappearing isn't unheard of for them.
either way, all you're doing is outright rejecting any theory, from anyone, that this is something other than a widespread bug (which it isn't)-- so good luck to you.
[Errno 2] No such file or directory means the serial port device is missing. This is not something Home Assistant Core controls, the serial port is provided by the OS when you plug in a device.
Anyways, this would have been resolved by a simple hardware reboot, removing and re-adding the integration doesn't do anything special (other than delete your entity customizations)
Has this device been replaced or have you received it in the last 2 or so weeks? Because if it's an older ZBT-1, it is probably DEAD. See the link I posted above... https://discord.com/channels/330944238910963714/1293305327428698253
@torn willow
If you're running on a Pi you'd have to fully unplug the Pi to actually get it to fully power down
