So i don't remember what happened last but my home assistant got screwed and I can access the ui to say restore a backup and using the VM console isn't working

It just won't work even when I restart it
And there's a backup but the core won't startup properly so I can't install it (I got the console working kinda) is there a way I can trigger it to boot into safe mode?
When i try to restore a backup it gives me the error blocked frome xecution, system is not running - startup
