How to display a script in a dashboard?

I have a script that is enabled and visible (Option on) and has an area assigned but it is not showing on the dashboard.

You need to "take control" of your dashboard if you haven't already. Then you just add something like the "tile card" and select the script as your "entity." Then on the "interactions" section of the card, set the tap behavior to "toggle."
