#How do I make HomeAssistant mark a device as 'Unavailable' quicker?

I have a Hue bulb for a back porch light with a dumb switch hooked up to it. When I turn off the switch, the bulb will eventually be reported as Unavailable.

Question
How can I make the bulb 'unavailable' quicker / reduce the confidence that HA needs that the device is truly unavailable?

The ultimate reason why is because that state for that bulb is the condition for visibility of its' own light control card on my dashboard, which throws off the alignment of my dashboard when it's on.

In this photo, my back porch light is actually off at the switch, so it should be unavailable. I want it to report as unavailable faster.

It all depends on the integration for Zigbee. Zigbee itself has no real status check, so the integration just has to poll it. How and if it's possible depends on the integration.

But better, do yourself a favor and don't power down Zigbee bulbs 🙂 That way you keep it snappy and your always able to control it. Just change the switch to a remote or attach a Shelly or something 🙂
