Does anyone know why the Security Status would show as Unsafe..? I have logged in to the console of the Synology NAS unit and it doesn't have any alerts. Also, all the patches are up to date and all the installed packages are as well. I'm wondering what would lead it to report "unsafe"?

running the security advisor shows it reporting one package out of date.. even though it wasn't 🤔

Rescanning now...

hmm. still no joy. it flagged an issue with domain admins but the instructions to fix it no longer work since the instructions do not match the current menu structure ಠ_ಠ

(yeah, I know, I'm talking to myself since no one is watching or commenting here, but maybe in the future someone will tread this path again and enjoy my pain 😛 )

this will need to be handled directly by one of our Engineers. I will create a support ticket for you and escalate this case to the Engineers for their assistance

#

your ticket has been created. Your ticket number is:<redacted> An agent will reach out to you within 24 hours via email to further assist you. In the meantime, you can check the status of your ticket under the "Support" tab on the left hand side of your Synology account at

UPDATE: for some reason the report has changed to SAFE! o.o

#

its seems like the safe/unsafe resolved when I re-enabled "ActiveInsight" which is the cloud-based NAS monitoring service that comes with the Synology unit. I noticed it had disconnected so I refreshed it. I was then poking around and found the status on HAOS had switched to "Safe" 🤔
