I saw i could run HA on a rasberry pi and im just looking for the cheapest way to run HA. I am planning on migrating my room from alexa into HA.

I guess cheaper then a pi If power draw is not in the equation use whatever you have at home and virtualise if needed.

The hardware you already have is going to be the cheapest option. An old laptop is a great choice as it has built in battery backup, and the computing power is significantly higher which means you won't run into limits as quickly and need to replace the device.

Secondhand devices are also a great shout. A raspberry Pi with 8GB of RAM is about £75. You can get a mini PC for a similar price which is much more powerful.
