#zooz or shelly?

For what product, a light switch?
anything, I am New to HA and looking to buy a few things to start out with
They are both good and popular products, you would need to list a little more detail what you're shopping for and requested features.
have 4 Lighting circuits for lights in kitchen using an old X10 which does not like the noise from LED and don't work half the time, but two are LED strips now , using AC to 12volt adapter.
I will remove the 4 X-10 relays from attic to put something like the Shelly switch relay, maybe bypass the two using LED strips and just use a LED strip controler.
there are no wall switches to control them.
got it. I've used many zooz and several shellys (wifi though, not zwave), and I would say they're both good companies and products and you probably can't go wrong with either choice.
Thank you, yea I don't want to have to go back into attic to deal with issues
zooz may have some good black friday sales, they run sales often, dunno about shelly
looks like a lot of shelly US zwave may be out of stock?
zooz I think is more known for zwave, Shelly I thought was primarily known for wifi products, they may be a recent entrant to zwave, not sure
what about dimmers? how well they work with LED bulbs?
shelly doesn't have dimmers I think
zooz dimmers work pretty good for me, though they have some brands they recommend away from
i see a shelly Dimmer, but it is wifi
zooz have two kinds of dimmers actually with different circuits, some work better with one bulb type vs another (I think it's trailing edge vs leading edge dimmer)
zen72 vs zen77
different 3-way wiring
trailing/leading? I have some research to do.. ok yes one circut is 5 LED bulbs another is 2 LED bulbs, for main ceiling lights
that's probably more information than you really need to know 😉
they should both work fine I think
oh I wonder if the zooz relays have dimming
I know the light switches do... the discrete relays maybe not
Zooz 700 Series Z-Wave Plus 0-10 V Dimmer ZEN54 ? 0-10 V ? is that voltage?
Yes that's the voltage
wierd, I expected PWM
that needs to pair with a 0-10V led fixture
oh ok, I don't have that
wont work with typical lighting circuit with mains powered LED bulbs
I was thinking you wanted a 120V relay, which is zen52, which does not dim
yes the LED bulbs replaced flood lights, cans in ceiling. 120v
Hmm, yeah I don't know how to dim those on zwave without a zooz wall switch.
