#RATGDO + Dry Contacts + Reed Switches

Hello! I'm working on this scenario. The RATGDO has been flashed with the appropriate firmware, and is connected to the garage door, so that it can toggle the door.

I've attached these reed switches (as pictured) to the scenario for the open/close states: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005H3GCW0?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title#customerReviews

(the black and red wires from those are connected to the RATGDO)

I've connected them to the harness wires on the RATGDO, but the sensors always register as "off" on the dashboard (as pictured)

Wondering for any/all advice on how to troubleshoot this

got a diagram of what you wired?

#

do you have a multimeter you can test the switch?

That isn't very clear in explaining what you wired.

#

That sensor has 3 wires right? Which ones did you hook to which pins?

@sweet gull thank you, yes, it has a black, red and green wire. I couldn't find any specific documentation on the colors, but i think it's generally that black is common, red is NC and green is NO? I left the green one dangling for each sensor. Hooked the black wires from both sensors to a 3-way wago, and then connected that to the first pin on the harness. Then I took the red line from the open sensor and put that on the 5th, and closed sensors' red line to the 6th

and thank you for your patience and bearing with my unclear communication here

I'm not sure about the convention, but yeah I would make sure to just check it with a multimeter and make sure the sensor is working properly. I have a similar sensor and it works great with esp32.

Thank you that is great to know!! I am going to do the continuity tests later today

Thank you all for your support and guidance here. Turns out that i needed to strip more of the wire in the ratgdo harness. Literally this came down to that :/

Best of luck! Those reed switches are great!

I just set up my RATGDO32 today for a Genie 2128 and had to use the dry switches.

Got it all sorted out, but was wondering why can’t we use a Zigbee garage tilt sensor vs reed switches for the RATGDO? Seems like it would be way easier and similar to what MyQ does
