Hello everybody. I am now using HA for some time and got lots of devices integrated... I now want to make sure I won't loose everything should my SD card or whatever die on me. So, I'd like to ask what would be the best method to create a complete backup of the system. I never really had to worry bout this with my previous raspberry projects... but for this HA instance I really don't want to completely start over 😄

So, can anybody recommend a way to do backups for this? Thanks in advance

If you have a home server or even just a PC you leave on a lot, you can set up a SMB share on it and set it as a remote backup location
I quite like the Auto Backup HACS integration as that lets you do generational backups - so for example I have 12 backups made every 4 hours for the past 2 days, and of the ones made at 4am, if it's first of the month it's kept for a year, if it's a monday it's kept for a month, otherwise it's kept for a week
It handles deleting them to stop your backups folder endlessly growing for you

all of this is saved on my home server, and the monday at 4am ones get copied across to a friend's home server for offsite backup
