Hiya,

I am struggling with ZWave recently. I would appreciate some advice if you guys/gals dont mind…

I was very (VERY) happy using my Gen 7 (700) AEOTEC stick on my HASS 2024.5.5 and Zwave JS0.4.4.
I know it was a few months dated, but it was really good (may it rest in peace!)

I had to upgrade to the latest version and then my problems started… everything seems very sluuuuuuugish and also random. sometimes it work well for several hours, then a few sensors (basically motion sensors) stop to update for a day, and then resume as normal.

I have not changed or added anything on the system (I had to upgrade to use ONECTA app via HACS) but this is nowhere near my Zwave setup. so I guess i change it… but that was it…

I do have a old gen5 stick from Aeotec laying around, which i could possible connect and port everything to the old gen5 stick, but i am not sure it will actually solve the problem. I dont remember (but can check if relevant) the firmware for the Gen7 stick, but i am pretty sure I am using the version which is recommended to be the better one (and as I said, it was working flawlessly until i upgrade HA).

So, I think my fundamental question would be:

Does anyone know a dedicated HUB I could use to replace the stick altogether and then could use to connect to HASS?

Should i go back to the Gen5 stick and if I do that, anyway i can save the config? Or should i reconnect everything from scratch?

I do have about 20 Zwave devices and likely around 80-100 automations using all those devices, so i trying to gather some knowledge before i redo everything, but i got the conclusion that way it is working now is actually crap and i wont keep it much longer, just trying to find the best way forward.

P.S. Have I mentioned that I was very happy and it was working fine....... (shed a tear....)

I feel ya. I'm having zwave trouble with lost devices, unresponsive devices... Sensors reporting wrong state... They talk to each other just fine, my motion sensor can directly turn on a light, but that light shows as not communicating to hass, and it won't turn on or off from hass.

Best place to ask for Z-Wave help is in #1284966617670881350 with the Z-Wave tag - the people who can help probably won't see posts here

fwiw, I would have figured here as well, since it's one of the official integrations...
