#Help monitoring electric gate open/close status into shelly plus 1 sw

Hey everyone, hoping to get some advice. I've got a Shelly Plus 1 on my gate that can open/close it nicely. I'm wanting to monitor the open/close state so my automations don't toggle the gate if it's already open (therefore closing it)

The model is LiftMaster CB11 (https://manuals.easygates.co.uk/PDF/misc/cb11-english-only.pdf)

Hoping someone with more of a hardware mind than myself can help me show what I can use into the sw input on the shelly.

I could use a door sensor on the gates but would prefer a hardwired solution with the shelly I've already got if possible.

I can see options for a light output on the schematic depending on the gates being open/closed but wanted to check with people first for the best option.

Just get an open/close sensor for the gate itself. Zwave LR sensors would be a good choice for this.

as long as you make sure the enclosure is weather sealed (which you'll have to figure out) this should work and last quite a long time.
