I need help with finding a PoE light indicator that works with HA. Specifically, what I am after is an LED indicator light that is powered by Ethernet that I can put through a wall above a door to indicate whether or not I am on a video call (this is for a home office). I have this currently working with a Kasa light switch turning on / off when the call starts / ends (using HASS.Agent), but I am moving to a new office and will not be using the same type of light bulb / switch. Any recommendations would be great!

Any smart light should work. I don't know of any PoE powered smart bulbs.
Thanks. Yes, I have it currently working with a smart bulb connected to a Kasa switch. But, I am using different lights in the ceiling outside of my office (RAB lights using Lightcloud Blue which isn't supported with HA, evidently).
I am looking for something I can power with ethernet that would be a very small (think dime-size) indicator light I can poke out of the wall or ceiling above my office doors.
Hmmm... finding a dime sized POE device is going to be difficult. You could just use an ESP32 with a LED on it and power that off a coin cell battery or something like that. The power draw on it should be minimal.
OK thanks. I'll look around for ESP32. I am unfamiliar with that.
I don't think ESPs are particularly low-power/battery friendly. Especially not with a coin cell.
Thanks. Any other suggestions @solar sonnet ?
Basically, it's a smart "on-air" light / notification.
Not POE, but I kinda like the Thirdreality nightlight (Zigbee) if you have a power outlet nearby.
Would be a very visible status light
You can get POE ESP32 as well, but that's a very DIY solution.
Do you know if this comes in a wifi format?
oh actually maybe it does, didn't think of that
says "Matter over wifi"
I don't know exactly what that means, but worth looking into

Zigbee is a standard, so yes it works. I haven't investigated this matter/wifi.
OK thank you
