I’m planning to set up some solar panels on my shed roof and want to feed the generated power into my home grid. My goal is to integrate the system into Home Assistant to monitor production and, ideally, set up automations to optimize power usage. Here’s what I’m looking for:
1. Inverter: I need an inverter that’s compatible with Home Assistant. Any recommendations for models with direct integration options (e.g., MQTT, REST API, or a native add-on)?
2. Battery Storage (optional): I’m considering adding a battery to store excess power for use during the evening or cloudy days. Has anyone had experience with storage solutions that integrate well?
3. Energy Management and Automations: I’d like to optimize for self-consumption. Ideally, I’d like something that displays in the Home Assistant Energy Dashboard, showing battery status and power consumption.
4. Experiences with Specific Models or Setups: If anyone has hardware recommendations or has done a similar setup, I’d love to hear any tips and insights!
