I want to add a macro to my keyboard to turn on-off a light in my room as well as getting on/off sensors for my PC, but hass agent seems a bit dead in terms of commit history and I was hoping there's something better.

There is a fork of it floating around that was continuing development of it, but yeah, for Windows, it's pretty much the only option. I know there were grumblings of people using EventGhost to send/receive MQTT messages, but I don't know if that ever went anywhere since EG was "ghosted" a while back.
