Is anyone else seeing matter duplicating entities randomly?
I have even deleted and reset and rejoined some devices. I am seeing random duplications of the light entity for no reason.
I.e. this picture, between yesterday and today there has been 2 additional light entities appear that are unavailable.
Everything on the latest update except for core with is 2024.10.2

Very confusing and seems to be causing some issues with my matter/thread lights. have had 4 out of 8 bulbs in a single room do this.

And even more annoyingly, you cannot delete these extra incorrect entities 😦 its greyed out

This should be a rare occurrence but sometimes the corresponding node does not remove itself in the Python Matter Server maybe check there

Yea i know, the nanoleaf nightmare was not fun... but I also could not find downlights that had a decent light output and colour range (maybe Hue, but a lot more expensive). I wish they didnt put downlights in this apartment, they suck!
Lots of different chip errors etc in matter server logs as it always seems to have had, but nothing that has made me any wiser on how these got duplicated. Very weird

oh i meant turn on the web ui for the matter server and go delete the nodes in there

Oh! Well the web interface has come a long way since i last looked at it (prob Feb).
Unfortunately it seems I can only delete the whole node and not just delete the duplicated endpoint/entity of the light and its related items 😦

Exactly - that web interface of matter server just displays the raw node data. It has no relationship (at all) to HA entities.

If I must guess, this is just some leftover orphan data from early days of ythe Matter integration. There is a reason it has been marked beta for a while, it was not ready for prime time just yet. If you don't want to mess around with the device- and entity registry files in the .storage folder, then I'm afraid there is no other solution then to simply start from scratch.

Also always remember that if you are planning to factory reset a device and re-add it to HA, make sur eto delete it from HA first before you reset and re-add.

Its weird, I have had other matter lights duplicate. One I deleted from HA, factory reset, and added to HA. THen it had it and then had a duplicate of the bulb that was unavailable.
Very strange. Ill just work on reseting any that are still duplicated and delete them
