Hi Community, this is my first post, and I am a noob to everything regarding HA. I have already installed one ( 1! ) Sonoff to a radiator with an RA Adapter and some plastic straps to the radiator, as the screws are just useless to keep it in place. In addition I placed a 10 cent coin between the valve and the TRV to give it a better surface area and distance. THIS is the working valve setup. On the other Radiators I have no luck whatsoever. I have tried taking out the front valves (cleaning and regreasing) using the RA Adapter with screws or plastic straps attached to the radiator. I have tried adjusting the opening and closing degrees in HA as %, but I think it does not work in the initial setup. I have tried it with a coin, without a coin, or even a little single lego stud, nearly fits perfectly. No luck. Firmware is 1.1.5 zigbee2mqtt is 4609. Does anyone understand how to tweak the setup process? Batteries are at 100% and non rechargeabels. Why does it give a F5 error, does it dislike too much resistance, does it dislike too little resistance when closing the valve?

F5 means that no valve is detected

Could be too tight or too loose

Thing is, I can see that it moves the Radiator PIN every single time, so I dont understand why it gives a F5, when the other Radiator does not. I have several Radiators to try it out and Sonoff TRVs. Does it F5 if the pressure suddenly changes towards closing the valve? ie the voltage data drops and surges again -> then it just says, ah let's F5 it ?!

the only time I got F5 was when I'd improperly fitted the little plastic adaptor that the TRV screws down onto, it had a "false set" that was about 3mm too high for the TRV to make contact with the valve pin
Removing the TRV, loosening the adaptor and wiggling it down lower got the TRV to engage properly and got rid of the F5 error.
