Hi,
Looking at picking up a few of Shelly' new wall display.
Does anyone know if I can I just wire it up to a standard UK plug?
Guessing I'd need a custom made back box though.

to my knowledge (not first hand) its backplate wires up to and screws onto a normal backbox using the standard screws then the front clips onto the backpanel.
just ensure you have a neutral at the switch location you are looking to replace with it.

Yes, should be doable if you just ignore the load and switch terminals

just make sure whatever box (presumably 3d printed?) you mount it in is reasonably robust - you don't want any children to press at the walls of it and expose the terminals

if you just want to put it on a desk or something get a 45 degree backbox and use that as a stand

and as said ensure there is some strain relief so the exposed cables dont get pulled out
