#How can I prevent some controls of a device from reacting to global "area" commands?

For example, I have a Bosch fridge. I mostly only monitor it for energy and a couple automations around door usage. I noticed the ice machine was off today and that it was turned off by an automation that executes switch: turn off for area: kitchen. Since the fridge is located in the kitchen area, and the fridge device has several 'switches' for enabling and disabling the water and ice, these items are being turned off from the area commands.

I can think of several manual ways to prevent this (like listing only the switches I want to turn off), but I'm posting this here to see what you all suggest for 'best practices' to handle this type of behavior.
