#Monitor power outages that are too fast for a UPS?
9 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
My Ecolink Chime+Siren regularly reports power outages that my UPS's didn't notice. I do not, however, have the equipment to tell if it's detecting real issues on the socket it's on, or if it's giving false reports.
what is that device and what does it do?
that sounds interesting
Listen and Know When a Problem Occurs in Your Z-Wave NetworkThe Ecolink Z-Wave Plus Siren/Notification Device, Gen5 will alert you with an audible sound whenever it detects a problem using Z-Wave technology. This device is powerfully loud at 105db and features 30 built-in sound options, S2 Security Encryption, a learn-in button, dual-LED indicat...
It's a speaker with a battery on Z-wave (acts as repeater), plugs right into an outlet. It has some ring tones/doorbell sounds, some siren/alarm sounds, and a few built-in phrases like "Front Door" or "Armed Away". It says a microsd card can be added with a couple hundred more sounds you record yourself. One of its alerts to Home Assistant is losing or gaining power.
It's supposed to run for 24 hours without wall power.
interesting. battery replaceable when it eventually dies? can you have HA play custom sounds through it?
No, battery is not replaceable officially to my knowledge. Any sound has to be prerecorded in one of ~200ish custom slots, but then you can play it.
