Assume you or someone you know is on AT&T, and their number is 123-555-1010.
Get on your computer, fire up whatever you use for composing email, and send an email to 1235551010@txt.att.net
Once the intended recipient receives the text, we can then assume you understand how that side of things works.
Now you are left with figuring out how to send an email with Home Assistant. Check out the docs for the SMTP integration
