US Region: I am beginning to get my home theater together, and I believe I have come to the conclusion that I will need a sled for my ultra short throw projector. If I have to go that route I would like to have the extension automated.
One idea I have is to put teeth under the sled and have a stepper motor push and pull the sled - and while I have experience with arduino, I have no experience with using something like arduino for IoT - in other words, I would have no problem getting the arduino to extend and retract using a stepper motor, but I wouldn't know how to integrate it with Home Assistant nor poll HA with the position of the motor/am I open/am I closed etc.
I am open to other off the shelf options, but not sure exactly what I would be searching for - as in, you can search for home assistant smart blinds. Home assistant smart drawer?
Any ideas for either approach would be appreciated.
