I like the native HA compatibility that the 3R devices have but hate their form factor and massive size. I love the form factor of the Aqara devices (and that you don’t need a screwdriver to access) but dislike that they don’t have native HA compatibility for firmware and the like. Suggestions? Should I just get the Aqara hub to keep them up to date and such? Or ignore firmware and just keep attached to the zigbee dongle? Or is there a better solution?
#Aqara or Third Reality sensors? Or something else?

ignore firmware and just keep attached to the zigbee dongle
But use Aqara?
3R has better zigbee chips so better mesh and they follow the zigbee standard with fewer quirks that Aqara. Aqara assumes you are using their hub sometimes.
3R if I'm choosing.
I ended up getting 3R for vibration and Aqara for leak
