So I'm planning on making some window openers to work with HA. I found a good 12v linear actuator that I can use. You just reverse the power connection to reverse direction, and it has built in limit switches, so shuts off on its own.

My question is, what should I use to drive it with? I currently have a ZWave network running, as well as ESPHome to handle a RatGDO. Any suggestions for a control board? Ideally something I can include local buttons to control as well.

hmmm maybe I can just use a zooz zen53 to control it >.>

Which actuators did you get and how do you plan to power them? I've been considering the same.

Don't overpower the linear actuator or you get this:

that looks like it has only got 5V relays on it rather than the 12v you'd need for your actuator

hmm maybe not

and I still need to pick out a power supply, but that should be much easier ^^

ok, no you should be ok with that one - the relay can handle 12V, the 5V is just its switching voltage
maybe check in the esphome discord if someone has done something similar? I assume you'd have to do something like a template switch to control it - but i honestly haven't played around with it much

also - it apparently wants ~100W which is quite a lot for those little relays, might want to go with a different solution
