New to HA so I'm still trying to figure out the dashboard stuff. I have this "People" section to display some basic info of housemates. Currently, it only displays "Home" or "Away" for the states in the tile, but I'm trying to get them to show a zone name if the person is in one, instead. For instance, if Jeff was at work, it would say "Jeff's Work" using a predefined zone vs just "Away." Any way to get this done?

Yeah I've define other zones but they just display "Away" when someone is there instead of the name of the zone

To me that means it is not detecting that person in the other zone, just that they’re NOT home
Does the state of that person’s entity change to “Jeff’s Work” or is it just Home or Away

You shouldn't have to do anything special to get the person entity to show the zone they're in.
Can you check the state history for the entity? You should see something like this.
If you see nothing but Home and Away, I would check the phone's sensors in the HA app. Click the "Hamburger button" in the top right > Settings > Companion app > Manage sensors. These are my settings.
Lastly, I would check the HA app's permissions on the device. On Android (Samsung S22 Ultra), go to Settings > Apps > Home Assistant > Permission. Ensure Locations is allowed. My phone is set to Allow all the time and precise location is checked.

I had this problem for one of my kids. It turned out to be the "allow location tracking" permission when you first run the app. For some reason when I was fault-finding it didn't show up as a permission that was denied.
I have a ping sensor for his phone which was saying he was home, but it wasn't getting the location when he was away.
Reinstalling the app (and ensuring the permission is given fixed it.

'Home' is a zone name.
If someone is in a zone, it should display the name of the zone. If it doesn't know then it's away unles the place ther aew in is a known named zone. Unknown means there is no locaton.
If you want to change away to school or whatever, then add a zone around school. When they are there, it tells you they are there.
There is no magic list that they are in the 12640 block of 27th street or something, only zones that you identify.
I have a bunch of zones for important places.
