#Emporiavue's sensors showing 'unknown' and no longer reporting power usage since 2024.10.2

Morning,

I posted this in the 2024.10.2 thread also, but hoping to get a quicker response here. I just upgraded to 10.2 yesterday. I did not see anything regarding changes to this integration / esphome that worried me about upgrading but since installing the latest I am no longer getting energy readings from my emporiavue(s). I have one in each 150a panel.

I do not see anything in the logs that is obvious, the devices are running (in esphome, show online).

Example of one of the emporiavue's in HA. All of the sensors are reading 'unknown'. They are set as UoM as 'W' (watts) which is how they've been all along.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

One maybe additional clue, in one of my dashboards I use to track power utilization. some of the sensors (not all) are showing an error saying "Entity is non-numeric".

Don't know but I'd probably try:

  • power cycling the esphomes
  • restarting HA
  • viewing the logs of the esphome itself
  • maybe enabling debug logging for esphome integration in HA and reviewing that

I did do a full restart of HA this morning, I thought about power cycling the emporiavues too, but that would be a literal first time required for them.

hrm... repowered one of them, no joy, but looking at that sensor log is adding some context. I'll be searching on this.
This is displayed OVER and OVER
