I can read the serial output log with the chrome web flasher. But I have errors which are not easy to reproduce so it would make sense to run it on the RPi4 with ha. How can I read the logs via the usb interface in home assistant?

Hi @viscid yarrow,
Are you using ESPHome? If so you can connect your esp to home assistant to see logs on the esp32.

But ESPHome is also running for other purposes

Just checkes ESPHome its connected via wifi, how can I connect to the serial port?

The ESPHome add-on (as opposed to the integration) allows you to see logs for each device.

Nor me. TBH I find ESPHome a bit of a nightmare. And to think I used to find HA docs difficult... 😒
