#Hive thermostat - battery only?

Correct
I use them and can say I do like it, my main complaint is that the receiver doesn't have a switch to drive the boiler directly, instead I have to set the thermostat to some arbitrarily high number and then it turns the receiver on
That's a bit crap, what do they expect you to do with the thermostat on your wall
Thanks for confirming
What do you mean?
I mean I have 2 mains powered thermostats on my wall, I guess hive expect me to disconnect those and cover the hole with the wall mount for their battery thermostat
Yup pretty much, what would the other thermostats be for anyway?
Like... it doesn't matter what new thermostat you buy.. you're replacing your old ones
Yeah I just wish they offered a mains powered option so i don't have to worry about replacing / charging batteries. And instead of capping off cables and covering a hole I could do a straight swap.
I appreciate the info!
Ah gotcha
If you were really keen, you could use something like this: https://batteryeliminatorstore.com/en-gb/products/3-aa-cells-usb-source-battery-eliminator and wire in a USB charger to your mains connection
