using home assistant companion app as media player possible?

Would be super cool to send notification sounds to our phones and tablets, and tts messages.
Tts was already possible i think, though. But what about sending a audio file over?
If not is there already a feature request for this?

We can already do that, mostly. Both Android and iOS. You can send attachments (audio and video) with a notification and for custom sounds, you can upload your own files.

That would probably be considered a security risk.

android uses channels, you have to use channels for notification sounds now. This has been android thing for almsot 10 years now.

while the app can provide sounds, attaching them to a channel is not user friendly because you can only set the sound the first time its created....the entire purpose of channels is to stop bad app behavior and let the user control it
