I cannot get a sensor to go in the inidividual items section of the config. I thought it was the w to kwh thing, but I also can't get that integration to take the sensor, it acts like the sensor doesn't exist.

sensor.garage_inside_lights_electric_consumption_w doesn't show up in the list for Input sensor for the riemann integration
If I paste the full name, i just get Unknown
same is true of the Individual devices screen
the sensor is filtered out of the things I can select

Make sure you set and provide the device_class, state_class, and unit_of_measurement for those sensors.
device_class: energy unit_of_measurement: kWh state_class: total_increasing
should do the job.

okay I got the intergral thing to work
but I can't add the new entity to the energy dashboard
so let me customize
