#Home Assistant Green: Powering Pi Zero devices

Does anyone power a single board computer like the rpi zero from their Home Assistant Green? Does this work?

The Green has 12V1A power supply (12W) and uses 3W under load. The USB ports support 5V2A combined (10W). I have a ZBT-1 which is 5V0.15A (0.75W).

I'm looking at using a Orange Pi Zero3 which many Reddit threads say draws under 2W (5V0.4A).

Mathematically this works out 3+0.75+2 is less than half of 12W. But most Pi's and Pi-alikes suggest a 10 or 15W dedicated power supply. So I'm wondering if there's something I've missed. Thanks!

You probably can but it would be very much not recommended

USB ports don't deliver the 5/5.1V those sbcs would like to receive and that can cause various issues
