I have a son off zbmini and wanted to add it to a light switch in my basement but this wiring did not look like the other lamp wiring. Prob because it’s spots, any support will be appreciated

It's kinda difficult to tell from the blurry label and disconnected switch how the wiring is supposed to work

I think my question is, can I connect the relay before the spotlight thing?

#

And ignore the button?

Where is the button coming from now. How stuff needs to be modified highly depends on how it is set up in a working state.

You may not be able to put a smart relay on this (in a proper way)

Ahh damn it

If I see this right this DC transformer has an internal relay that activates the output using a momentary push button

What would the alternative be if I want to automate a ”push”

Theoretically you could signal a pulse through a smart relay which simulates the push

#

But that would require a smart relay with dedicated neutral and an automation

Yeah I might be in 2 deep over my skill level here, is there a simpler way with another hardware or this is it?

Well there are things like switchbot that could press a button/activate a switch physically

#

That might work without having to modify the controls themselves

Thanks for all support I will have to think this through
