#Can’t access Web UI after new install

Hi there

I’ve installed HAOS via Ubuntu on a dedicated piece of hardware. It boots fine but I cannot access HA WebUI via the standard URL. I can access the Observor on port 4357 which shows as connected, supported and healthy respectively. However when I try to access via port 8123 I get “refused to connect” error message. I can ping the box using either IP or homeassistant.local without a problem.

On accessing the machine and running ha core restart I get:

Processing…Done.
Error: Unknown error, see supervisor

I am now stuck and not sure how to resolve this. Any advice please?

thanks

Ach

Check ha supervisor logs.

Home Assistant Supervised is considered advanced and should only be used if you are an expert in managing a Linux operating system, Docker and networking. Maintaining a Debian installation to a very specific set of requirements is hard.
Insecure installations and Unsupported configurations will result if you dont know what you are doing.
You MAY regret using this method.

Your installation is not really supported.

Following method 1: "Method 1 (recommended): Boot Ubuntu from a USB flash drive and install the Home Assistant Operating System from there. It also works on laptops and PCs with internal hard disks."

Oh then that's fine. It sounded like you were using supervised on ubuntu itself. Sorry about that.
What did ha supervisor logs say?

topaz axle

Here is the log, no apparent errors

It's possible the error occured furher up. Supervisor usually tries repeatedly to get to a working state so it might start working after a while. You can also check ha core logs.

Here you go

#

There doesn’t seems an obvious way to paginate the log, | more doesn’t work

#

Or to scroll up the page

Enter login then try again.

ok great here are both output with the first screen

#

seems that core is crashing...

You can follow the logs with ha core logs -vf.

Thanks. First command produces this…

Right I’ve now run them again in the opposite order and lo and behold the UI now works. Thanks for all your help,

Hi, I've a "similar" issue after updating my Core to 2024.10.0.
My HA start, my addon's to and my automations works (ex: open the light at sunset)
But the Web UI is load infinitly after the login.
Link for my POST on Community HA : https://community.home-assistant.io/t/crash-update-ha-core-2024-10-0-ha-green/778494?u=arketech13
I follow your instruction @dim roost and i've this :
HA CORE LOGS :

#

And for
ha core rebuild
ha supervisor repair

#

I restart the HA GREEN and it doesen't work

#

When he start, the CLI tell me that

You should probably open your own post for this. This is marked resolved.

But I'm still making progress.
Thanks to your message where I have to type “login”, I was able to access the files on the HA GREEN.
Can you give me the command to go to the backup directory and copy them to the SD card I put in the HA GREEN?
If it's possible, of course.

Ho sorry about that 😦
