custom card not found after switching to yaml mode

I have a couple of custom cards installed, and after I switched to yaml mode, and I assume that is because I lack a resources stanza in my configuration.yaml. However, I can't figure it out. How can I find out what needs to go into the ressources section and which paths they are at?

Also, some resources seem to imply that the resources stanza should be a child of the lovelace stanza in configuration.yaml, others seem to want it in individual dashboad yaml files.
