I’m looking to understand what location in the phone’s filesystem an automation trace is supposed to get downloaded to (when selecting the “download trace” option from an automation while using the iOS companion app).

I tried it on mine and it doesn't seem to download at all.

I was afraid of that. I’ll have to file a bug report

HA iOS App doesn't have a download manager, it wont download anything.

Does that mean there no way to make this feature functional? Is it worth creating an issue? Maybe a way to “copy trace to clipboard” instead of downloading it?

It can be implemented, I’m just saying it doesn’t exist currently

lol iOS and Mac copy to clipboard is horrid (on the Mac app, copy/paste doesn’t work at all, no fault of the companion app though).

I constantly have to remember to use a browser when trying to c/p samples from my instance to share.

I use c/p on my phone all the time, but don’t have a Mac so can’t compare there. The only issues I seem to have on the phone are getting extra carriage returns in some cases, or getting stuff html-encoded if copying from the app into a browser (so I have to use a text editor app as a middleman)
