I'm doing a little sleuthing after recently adding pi-hole DHCP to my network.

I appear to have a device which the mac address manufacturer code identifies as "lite-on". I can see it's picked up an IP address. However, i'm not aware of any device i have manufactured by lite-on, which is puzzling me.

Any ideas how i can identify the specific device (I'm assuming that it is in HA, pretty much any home automation device I have has been.)

try to use "advanced ip Scanner", it should be able to get you more information about the device. perhaps it has more ports open, which you could use to try to connect on.

Plug this string into a search engine:

liteon using ip address

Anything that pops up look like something you have plugged in and forgot about?

Another option might be to use Wireshark. Or, one by one turn off devices and monitor the router.
