Hello all. I just wanted to pass along some info that I discovered tonight. After trying to replace a battery in two of my Aeotec Door/Window Sensor 7 Pro's, I realized that there is a discrepancy between the battery that the user manual states the device uses, and the what the website says that it uses.
User Manual: https://products.z-wavealliance.org/ProductManual/File?folder=&filename=product_documents/3866/DWS7Pro_Manual_Extended-2-8.pdf
Website: https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000230466-door-window-sensor-7-series-700-technical-specifications
As you'll find, the user manual says that it uses a 1/2 AA battery type, and the website says that it uses a CR2.

My issue was that when I replaced the battery with a 1/2 AA, neither door responded. I tried 3 different 1/2 AA's, all with the same dead device. I thought that they were toast. However, after finding the support website that mentioned that they use CR2, I tried one and it started responding. What was weird was that I was able to throw the same 1/2 AA battery back into the device after it was responding with the CR2, and it was working again with it.

I know that 3.0V and 3.6V doesn't seem like that much, but it is a 20% voltage variance. This seem to be enough to make these devices flake out. Just passing this along.

Is that the same manual you received with the device? You might want to notify Aeotec about the discrepancies.

I would send an email to Aeotec, or post this as a discussion at node-zwave-js.

all i know is that i had zero life from one of the units after cycling through 2-3 new(ish, more like "unused") 1/2AA batteries that i also tested the voltage on to ensure they were still strong. i had given up on it and was likely going to buy a replacement. the other device was down to 30%, so i replaced the 1/2AA in it and it didn't come back on either. that got me started down this path to ensure the correct battery was being used, where i found the support site. i tired the CR2 in the second device, and it came right back on. i took it out of that one, and used it in the first device i thought was dead, and it came back on. i then put the 1/2AA back into that first dead device, and it is still working
