So I know thatt zigbee devices that work with battries ain't repeaters and devices that works with electricity like plugs and energymonitors works as repeater. So a zigbee bulb, will it work as a reapter? and is there a way to check if something works as a reapter?

Most mains powered devices are but there are exceptions. IIRC sengled bublbs are not, for example. You didn't say whether you use ZHA or Z2M.

Using ZHA

my main problem, is the zignal atm because the sonoff zigbee gateway seems to have a low range

Ah. Not sure how/where it's displayed with ZHA.

In ZHA, if you go into the device info, there should be a “Manage Zigbee Device” section which has a “Neighbors” tab. I think that will show you if a device is a router or an end device. DISCLAIMER: I don’t use ZHA.

The drop down under the device’s configuration page will tell you if it reports as a router or end device.
