I have both a ZWave and Zigbee dongle connected to one similar to that. USB 3 with a 5M extension cable to move it closer to the center of the house. Shouldn't be an issue.

Then you probably don't need a powered HUB. Depends what you plug into it, of course.

yeah, I'm also using an unpowered usb 2.0 hub for my zigbee and bluetooth adapters, and I haven't had any issue with that.

note that basically all the radio dongles are usb 2 not usb 3, so using a usb 2 hub won't cause any issues and it can reduce interference too.
