#converting zbt-1/skyconnect from thread to zigbee

I'm now realizing the initial setup of this zbt-1 was a choice being made and not a "pick one to setup first." 🤦🏽‍♂️ I don't have thread devices, but do have some zigbee devices, but my zbt-1 now only shows up a a thread integration. Help!

No worries. First go to
Settings - Devices & services - Integrations
Click on the Open Thread Border integration (the logo, not the blue text below) and select "Delete" from the dotsvertical menu.
Repeat that for the Thread integration.

#

When those two integrations are gone go to
Settings - Add-ons
Select the Open Thread Border Router add-on, stop and uninstall it.

#

When that is uninstalled, head to the add-ons page again, click on "ADD-ON STORE" and search for "Silicon Labs Flasher".
Install that add-on (not the Multiprotocol one!).

#

When it is installed, go to the add-on page again and select Silicon Labs Flasher.
Go to the Configuration tab of the add-on and select the ZBT-1 as device and save that setting with the "SAVE" button.
Go to the Info tab and start the add-on and head over to the Log tab.

#

If everything is working, the add-on will stop successfully (often called code 0 in logs).

#

ZHA should be autodiscovered now (if not, give HA a restart) in
Settings - Devices & services - Integrations

#

Add the autodiscovered integration and you are ready to add Zigbee devices.
The Silicon Labs Flasher add-on is not needed anymore and can be uninstalled.

Is this the zbt1?

Yes

Awesome, that worked! But I'm now realizing to use these lights i need an echo or Google home 🤦🏽‍♂️ shoot, i thought I'd be able to just connect to the lights through this emulated hub

proper nymph

What do you mean by that?

silent sedge
#

Oh sorry. The hue hub emulation

#

It appears both yaml code portions for the emulated hub require either an echo or home

proper nymph

Emulated Hue is just to make a limited number of entities available to Alexa.

#

You don't need that to control the Zigbee lights.
That's what ZHA and Home Assistant are doing

Oh, ok. Maybe I just need to power them on to get them to show up

You have to get into the ZHA integration and select ADD DEVICE.
It looks for Zigbee devices in pairing mode now.
You might have to factory reset the light to enter that mode.

Thanks! This is great! Now to see if it's worth trying to work through the cync stuff or just return those
