#Leviton matter setup

Howdy folks, I'm looking for some help setting up two matter (wifi) enabled Leviton light switches. I had previously had them working with HomeAssistant. They were moved to an IOT network, deleted from HA, and moved back to the original network after discovering that wouldn't work. They will not pair, on android or ipadOS. I have factory reset the switches. Throughout this all, a 3rd matter device (TP-Link plug) has been working perfectly, so I do not suspect any network config issues...

Did you also delete them from HA ?
And then make absolute sure you have factory reset the switches and make sure that your phone is connected to the same WiFi as HA

I did delete them from HA, factory reset switches, and am using the same wifi on the switch and setup phone. I've attempted setup with a stock pixel 8, GrapheneOS pixel 8, and an ipad. My HA server is on the same default VLAN as the wifi network being used

Ok strange, those were all the recommendations I could give. I dont have the Leviton switches here in my testsetup so I'm not aware of any specific ruirks they may have. Do you have any other Matter device to quickly try if your Matter server is basiclaly working ?

Yeah, I ran out of troubleshooting myself too...

The leviton switches did work at one point, so I know they are OK

I have a TP-Link smart plug that is currently functional with matter, so I know my HA & Matter servers are OK

I'm afraid the only advise I can give at this point is to contact Leviton support. Maybe there is a flaw in the firmware preventing them from being factory reset properly.

Great news, got it working. Turns out re-reading the manual helps - I missed the part where it had to be in wifi setup mode or it would ignore matter pairing requests

Great that you solved it. Thanks for reporting it back here for others to read!

oh yeah, I just installed 10 of these (Decora Smart and some companion switches for 3-way setups) last week and to be clear (for others), you need to press the the on (or rocker up switch) for 7 seconds to put into matter pairing mode. Sometimes I find the QAR scanner does not work, so manually putting in the matter pair code helps. But yeah, these are pretty solid once it set up. You also have to enrol into the Matter program to get the matter update.

I've had mixed experience with the Leviton D26HD/D26HS devices with Matter, and am currently getting my butt kicked trying to install a new batch. Had 1 of 5 work right. I have tried everything imaginable: 1. All upgraded to firmware v. 2.1.25 with the Leviton app. 2. All completely removed from the Leviton app and factory-reset (i.e., 14 seconds until red/amber) afterwards. 3. Never added to HA in any other way. 4. Have tried and tried again with numerous resets (i.e., 7 seconds until amber), factory resets, HA and iPhone restarts, device power cycles, etc. Again...one of them worked right so my Unifi network probably isn't misconfigured. I remember issues 18 months ago with another batch regarding IPv6, but those switches have been working flawlessly for many months--except for one that dropped off and also won't rejoin. Thoughts?

Started new thread, as I question whether this is a Leviton issue or a Unifi issue.
