Also, 99% of the components for "made in the EU" come from ... drumroll ... China. And the firmware was probably written there too.

Really, for stuff that uses Zigbee the country of origin shouldn't matter. Even for WiFi it mostly doesn't matter to consumers, unless you're likely to be the target of espionage.

I doubt there's much in your house with electronics that doesn't have at least one part originating in China, if not a good proportion of the parts
