Hey, did you ever figure out if there is a reason for the energy monitoring not showing up with matter? I was wondering if it's just not been implemented by the matter integration yet @flint crane
seems to be implementation thing #1213001696045699082 message
Does the power monitoring stuff show up as a custom cluster?
How would I check? I'm not familiar with how matter works
I think the matter integration does not support energy monitoring yet. I used tapo integration addon
@hallow fable according to this post, the HA SDK was updated to support all MAtter v1.3, but not all the new devices types were added yet https://community.home-assistant.io/t/tapo-p110m-energy-monitoring/736975/14
"I’ve updated the device throug the Tapo app to version V1_1.2.3 Build 240617. Nothing changed in HA, still only the switch entity…
The Matter 1.3 Energy Management clusters are not yet supported in Home Assistant, so it could be just that.
You can check if the device exposes the Energy Management cluster by Browsing the device in the Matter Server add-on Web UI. Check the Endpoint 1. If there are only OnOff/Descriptor and a couple other non-energy measurement named clusters, then the firmware does not support the new Energy Management clusters."|
thanks that's super helpful! @flint crane
@half arrow you mention in this GitHub thread that it would be helpful for people to send diagnostics to help with development of matter 1.3 features - do you need any from a Tapo Energy Monitoring Smart Plug (P110M)?
I'm not 100% sure whether the firmware is there yet... as I am not clued up on the "clusters" information - that thread magoswaldius suggests that it's not but I completely blanked on that before pinging you - it's late here 😅
I have a Tapo switch here on my test bench, it is not yet updated to Matter 1.3
