Hi all, me again. Still working on my new-construction build. reposting from reddit to get additional opinions. Trying to prewire for a security system that meets these requirements:
1: Professionally monitored by Dual-path (LTE and IP) with battery backup. If internet or power fail while we're out of town, I still want monitoring.
2: Wired sensors for entry points. Drywall isn't up yet, so I'm in the process of pulling 22/4 to doors & windows, glass-break sensors, keypads, and a couple spares. 2a: no integrated cameras, as those will be Reolink NVR/PoE.
3: Doesn't try to be my hub for the whole smart home. Dear alarm panel: just do your job, I'll have HA for all the rest.
4: Plays nice with HomeAssistant. I'd love it if it could receive a signal from HA for other non-hardwired events such as camera detection, but this isn't a dealbreaker. Presumably this could be done with the alarm-keypad emulation in the Envisalink integration.
My considerations so far:
-Honeywell Vista-20P and EnvisaLink.
-Honeywell Vista-20P and AlarmDecoder.
-Honeywell Vista-21iPLTE and TotalConnect? (Not sure if this will replace the need for Envisalink).
-DSC equivalents of the above Honeywell panels?
-EyezOn UNO + SideKick LTE + DEC accessories. (Does UNO use the same Envisalink integration?).
Honeywell is ol' reliable tried-n-true, supported by just about any monitoring service; and the Envisalink integration looks very promising. But the UNO looks great too.
What else am I missing?
