Ikea has some new budget ones that aren't actually that bad
wait, i'm mixing two thoughts. ThirdReality has some new budget ones that aren't actually that bad.
https://www.amazon.com/THIRDREALITY-Semi-Transparent-Motorized-Honeycomb-Automatic/dp/B0C6KFC3JJ $75-95 per window for windows from 20"-39" wide
I was hoping to find just the way to add a motor and an ESP32 controller. I already have the actual blinds. I just need the motor and a way to make it fit into the blinds. Is that possible?
how good are you at programming?
you'll also need a relay board and a way to power it and it probably needs a bigger motor or stepper motor than you're thinking to get enough torque to deal with it.
The electronics part isn't a problem. In fact the whole idea isn't a problem. I just thought it would be cool to contribute $ to someone for their project if someone had figured it all out already. The cellular blinds aren't cheap and I dont want to buy them and then not be able to automate them. Maybe its best for me to stick to standard venitian blinds. I know I can make those work properly.
