Please use imgur or other image sharing web sites, and share the link here.

Image posting is blocked in most channels to discourage people from sharing text as images. Sharing text as images assumes that everybody sees the world as you do, which isn't the case. Some people are colour blind, or have visual impairment that means they can't make sense of an image of text.

No, keep things here.

Allocated 4GB to home assistant - unraid server is at 96% memory usage

white kernel
#

Also check free -h and top -co %MEM.

vestal stone
#

server has 8gb memory total

white kernel
#

Please also run free -h on unraid.

vestal stone
#

How can I back out of this screen? I can't type here

white kernel
#

CTRL+C.

vestal stone
#

On unraid rather than the vm you mean?

white kernel
#

If your unraid's memory is more than 80% ised then you should be concerned and upgrade it.

#

Yes.

vestal stone
#

It just died again when I went to navigate unraid so definetly seems to be a memory issue

#

Memory sitting back at 59% again

white kernel
#

Like I said, allocate less to it. Can you check what uses the memory on unraid?

vestal stone
#

How much memory would you recommend?

white kernel
vestal stone
#

I used to allocate it very little but it would cause my addons to crash

white kernel
#

Depends. I'm not familiar with unraid and how much it uses. I'd try giving HAOS 3G.

#

I might be able to tell you more once you've shown me the command outputs.

vestal stone
#

Sorry it is coming

#

Bear in mind HA is not running (crashed)

16G is the minimum I'd recommend when you want to virtualize. You only have 3.7G available. Giving 4 to a VM is a bad idea.

#

Note that 4GB is just for the VM. There's other processes that "manage" the VM that also need some memory.

#

2.7G would be the Max I'd recommend. Keep 1G free for the host.

#

Maybe we can shave off some of that. If you show me the top output I can tell you more.

vestal stone
#

Will there be any PII on the top output?

white kernel
#

Possible. Only you can judge that.

vestal stone
#

One second then

white kernel
#

That looks okay. I'm not sure how much unraid-api is supposed to use.

vestal stone
#

Yeah I will just look to buy some more RAM - guess that's the answer

#

Thank you for bearing with me as I frantically panicked - much appreciated

white kernel
#

No problem. Feel free to keep me updated.

One quick thought: I am still behind on HAOS 11.2, do you think upgrading to 11.5 will see significant performance improvements in the interim?
