As for my reply to you... follow the Tasmota integration docs and it'll all just work

I appreciate it, but I exhausted all resources before coming here, including that one. Followed the instructions down to the letter, and successfully installed the first device w/o a single problem, but that's where the fun ended. I even went into each device to verify that it was configured like the first one except with its own name, and nothing, so SetOption19 0 just in case is wasn't already, and nothing, back to HA resources, then YouTube, and never found anyone that installed a second device, so I finally gave up and joined the discussion. (I try to avoid the discussion because when it comes to HA it seems like asking 3 people 1 question will get me 9 answers that may or may not work for me, so believe me when I say I have exhausted all resources and I'm actually learning MQTT in case the discussion doesn't work out.)

They should show up automatically detected

#

Mine all did

serene holly
#

I believe you

coral folio
#

Not showing up means that either the devices aren't configured correctly, or they're not talking to the broker

serene holly
#

They're all configured the same as the one that is communicating with the broker, which is why I'm confused.

coral folio
#

Have you checked that they are talking to the broker?

serene holly
#

They all show up in the Tasmota UI

coral folio
#

But are they showing up in the broker?

serene holly
#

No devices show up in the TasmoAdmin or Mosquito add-on, but if I open the Tasmo web UI I can see them all. In the integrations MQTT shows two non-Tasmota devices, and Tasmota shows the one switch.

coral folio
#

Add-ons don't show devices

serene holly
#

Can I send you screenshots? I see stickers and emojis, but no way to share an image.

coral folio
#

Use something like MQTT Explorer to verify that messages are in the broker from them

Please use imgur or other image sharing web sites, and share the link here.

Image posting is blocked in most channels to discourage people from sharing text as images. Sharing text as images assumes that everybody sees the world as you do, which isn't the case. Some people are colour blind, or have visual impairment that means they can't make sense of an image of text.

serene holly
#

LOL. Ok.

#

Remember when this technology was supposed to make life easier? LOL

coral folio
#

Well, it would, if people wouldn't insist in flooding channels with images of text, or pointless images

serene holly
#

Touche. LOLOL

coral folio
#

Oh, that's not a dig at you, that's a dig at others who've proven resistant to learning ๐Ÿ˜›

serene holly
#

All good. I'm enjoying the laugh. Thanks for all your help.

coral folio
#

Oh, these all have full Tasmota, not Lite?

#

And at least the version in the integration docs, but ideally newer?

serene holly
#

I just added one more to the folder that shows the versions,

coral folio
#

Just posting them here makes it easier to help us help you

#

Rather than expecting us to download and view some images

serene holly
#

Huh? I wanted to post them here, but can't because it floods the channel or something.

coral folio
#

You can just type...

#

Yes, all versions are full and 9.3 or newer or something like that

serene holly
#

Cool. Theyu

#

re all 12 or 13

#

Martin Jerry devices. All of them.

#

Pre flashed

coral folio
#

Double checked that they're full and not lite?

serene holly
#

It doesn't say specifically.

From memory the Tasmota UI shows it, hang on

#

Tasmota 13.3.0.2(tasmota) by Theo Arends

#

The lite version includes lite there

serene holly
#

Oh, the first one I checked does not say lite. I'll check more.

Tasmota 13.0.0 by Theo Arends

#

All of them look like this.

#

Hey, thanks again. Gotta get my son ready for school, but we'll figure this out.

serene holly
#

Btw, I have more switches and plugs still in the box if you want to walk through setting one up step by step to see if we can identify which step I've been missing.

coral folio
#

I'm not Tasmota expert, I've only set up a handful of them

#

I'm sure though somebody else will be able to help

serene holly
#

Me either. Everyone said HA was easy. "Just" flash Tasmota to everything. Now I own a soldering station for the first time since I got out of the Navy in the 90s. And let's not forget the ESP8266 graveyard at the edge of my desk. ๐Ÿ˜‘

Tasmota devices not showing in HA

#

ESPHome is maybe easier... though honestly I don't think there's much in it and Tasmota has more native capabilities

#

I've used both, and personally prefer Tasmota

serene holly
#

I prefer Tasmota, and I can't even get it working properly. LOL

coral folio
#

Probably worth checking HA's log file when the next device comes online and doesn't show in HA

If you're having problems with your updates to your configuration:

serene holly
#

I have plenty of devices in ESPHome, but they're always losing connectivity, it's forgotten devices before and thankfully I still had the keys saved or it wouldn't reintegrate them.
