Hi, I would like to help but could use some clarifications.

When I look at the standard autogenerated dashboard, it automatically creates a card per area, and the name of that area is in a H1 heading tag for that card. And underneath are all the entities of that area. When you say "navigate by headings", does that work for you to jump between these autogenerated cards and it can read the area name for you?

Hi, yeah, at least on my end of things, i’m using the auto generated dashboard as well. Two areas are as headings, but when i go go to areas under settings, create an area called test room, i then added a cast speaker device to that room but when i go back to the dashboard, it just lists the device but doesn’t show the area IE test room. i also tried adding all the areas i could think to add right now and then created a new dashboard and only two area cards have headings. All the other room names do not show up. With the jaws, it looks as if all the devices that have been discovered are under one of the rooms. Sorry if that was a bit confusing. I could try taking a screen shot on my phone if that would help.

Sure a screenshot probably help if it's not too much trouble, just so I can get an idea of what you're looking at.

Just looking at how autogenerated dashboard works, it may not generate exactly what you want, as it seems like an area card has a list of entities in that area, but there are also additional individual cards created for some devices (like a media player) that don't go under that heading.

Correct, when i say move by headings, i press the h key and it will jump to the next heading that is on the page regardless of whether it is H1 H2. h3 etc.

It may be that if you want things organized in a specific way, that you would need to manually create a dashboard instead of using the autogenerated one. Then you could use things like vertical-stack to organize a set of cards under a common heading.

Okay, sending screenshots took a couple so that way hopefully i captured everything. Lol, ha is cool but confusing for the noob but especially confusing as a blind person lol.

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking, the media players are not organized under the areas.
I'm not aware of a way to change that behavior, without creating your own dashboard.

thank you and i will update with how that goes.

Well, maybe i’m just mising something, but tried creating a new blank dashboard and using vertical stacking and i had no Success. Still not showing headings. wish there was an option to have the dashboard like a web interface where i could just manually put in heading tags. Lol, i’ve created lots of dashboards trying to figure this out. Looks so crazy now.

If you add that to the yaml editor I think it creates a heading.

Coming in next month's release there is a new "Sections" type view which might have more what you're looking for. But it's still experimental/beta.

I will give that a try. 😊 i read something about the new sections view and am interested to see if that resolves some of these problems.
