I posted about this recently but didn't get anywhere. I have set-up and configured two devices with the AndroidTV integration that are working well. I was seeking to get some disused tablets and phones integrated with HA too... to see what I could make them do for me.

I have been unable to hook them up. I get the error seen in the thread title. In my troubleshooting I can see that another machine can access the ADB over the wire on a test tablet but HA is not able to. I also ensured the container could ping the tablet successfully, but was unsure how to test the containers native ability to ADB in the same way (they adb command is not present it seems)

I was really looking forward to using old cellphones with HA... and felt this was the right direction... but no workie.

I have looked at the integration's troubleshooting. My devices are old... and I have not tried an external server... as I would prefer to keep it working with the integration alone.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong here?

Try fully kiosk browser instead

#

It’s the recommended method for tablet and phone integration

I am not interested in really using the screen which I believe Fully Kiosk browser is intended for. It hit my literature but I have not looked into it. Most reporte it was overkill for what they needd and I have not really found someone doing what I think I should be able to do with a proeper ADB implementation. I did hear a lot of people claiming stability over ADB is questionable

I am hoping to use these devices headless for the most part

also... looking at my initial usecase, I do not think this will work as I need to ADB to turn my phone into a squeezelite client

Can fully kiosk launch ADB commands?
